I am looking forward to serving our Lord in the capacity as a servant in EFCLA. I will continue to search for God’s guidance in my roles and in work areas as appointed by our church leaders. I believe in church growth through layman ministry and relational evangelism. I believe God has special purposes for EFCLA to fulfill in the San Gabriel Valley. I am thrilled by the prospects that I am going to meet many faithful co-workers in the near term. EFCLA is a unique church with many congregations, language, cultures and generations. With God’s blessing, I wish to serve, to some capacity, to help bridging the differences and to facilitate communications within EFCLA.
Henry has been at EFCLA since its inception and has been attending faithfully for more than 3 decades. In 1980, he accepted Christ as his Savior and followed His commandment to be baptized. Even before his baptism, he had been serving: He served as a Sunday School teacher since 1978; as a Junior Deacon in the 1980’s, as a Jr.High advisor for several years; as a Deacon for several terms; as a HLA Worship Leader and as an Elder for 2 terms. He is happily married with his wife, Alice, and they have 2 children together, Erin (12) and Ryan (9). Elder Charles Ting and Ruth Ting, his parents, also serve faithfully here at EFCLA. God's calling for him is minister to others and to steadily grow the church by attracting new believers and the un-churched. Though his calling is to serve the entire church and all 3 congregations, his focus will be on growing the 2nd generation, English ministry.
Subsequent to my baptism in 1993, I acted as chairperson for Gospel Fellowship and as a Sunday school teacher. Currently, I am serving in the Children's Ministry, have served in building communicative bridges with the parents. My prospective goals are to invite parents to take part in supportive roles such as serving lunch and supervising the children's playground.
I was baptized in 1990 participated in disciple visitation and provided rides to the senior parishioners. Served several terms as deacon and elder, and experienced god’s guidance in the “one church” leadership restructuring, church relocation and church construction project. Church is where God moves HIS children to transform from a getter to a giver. As God’s children, we have a duty to bless our families, our work-places and then cities andnations. May EFC be the church that carries God’s ambition that fulfills HIS desires cities and nations can be blessed because of EFC.
He was baptized in 1978.
Experience: Served as High School advisor, Adult Sunday School teacher, small group leader, fellowship chairperson, EFCLA deacon (3 terms), worship leader, choir conductor
Prospect: I always think that God is the first priority of our church. Not people. Not ministry. Not growth. Not success. God and God alone occupies the place of ultimate and absolute priority in our church. However, this biblical ideal does not receive much attention in the highly people-centered, growth-dominated, success-oriented church today. I would like to see that we really put God as our first priority
Experience: Small group leader, college group advisor, worship team co-worker, deacon (2004-2007). Prospect: 1. Training worship leaders and establishing worship teams 2. Continue EFCLA legacy of worships which evangelize, edify in truth, renew in spirit, and embody true godly devotion
