Title: The Life of a Mother – Live to Glorify God

Passage: Proverbs 22:6

Proverbs 22:6 (ESV) Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

Summary:

  1. Birth – help the child know God
  2. Upbringing – train the child to fear God
  3. Love – enable the child to glorify God

Announcements

  • Mother’s Day Gift: It will be available for pick up after May 11, 10am to 4pm from Tuesday to Friday and Sunday morning at the church office.
  • Personnel: The church has recruited our brother David Au to be the Administrative Facility Manager starting on May 8. Praise the Lord!
  • Sunday Worship Service: Starting on May 16, we welcome brothers and sisters to join our church physical worship. Taiwanese at 9:45, English at 11:00, and Mandarin at 11:15. No registration required and YouTube live-stream will still be available.
  • Children Congregation: 1) For children that are preparing to be baptized on Father’s Day, please sign up with Ruth (ext.16) as well. Baptism classes will be through Zoom on 5/22, 29, 6/5, 12 from 11am‐12pm. 2) Sunday School Award Giving activity will be 6/12 (Sat) 10am to 12pm with drive-thru in the church parking lot. We sincerely invite the parents to take your children along for pick-up.
  • Charity Runner’s Fundraiser: World Vision is hosting a fundraising activity “Global 6K for Water” for the countries in need of clean water. Our Senior Pas-tor Benson Wang will be the leader of Team EFCLA to aim for the goal to raise $2,000. The event will take place at 9am on 5/22 (Sat) in Rosemead Park. Regis-tration fee is $50 for each runner. Please visit the website (worldvision6k.org) and search “EFCLA” to join the team. It is also possible to donate without run-ning so feel free to contact the church office if you have any questions.

Prayer Requests

Pray for Our Church (EFCLA)

  • Pray for Worship Ministries. Pray for the worship elder, deacons, and worship teams.  Pray that the Lord would bless their ministries, and renew, refresh, and revive their lives through praise and worship.
  • Pray for Happiness Group Ministries. Pray for the Happiness seminars on 5/16 and 5/23.  Pray that there would be many BESTs join the seminars, and pray that the Lord would use the speakers’ testimonies to bring every BEST to Him.
  • Pray for the Sick.  Pray for those who are sick. Pray that the Lord would heal them and restore their health.

Pray for the world

  • Pray for Rick and Eunice. Pray for Rick and Eunice who are reaching out to tribal people in the Amazon jungle.  Pray for their health and safety.  Pray that the Lord would give them vivid hope when facing challenges, and use them to bring many tribal people to You.
  • Pray for Comoros.  Comoros, which is located in southern Africa, has seen an increase in issues regarding freedom of press.  Earlier this year, two journalists who were covering protests against the current government were arrested, accused of participating in the protests.  Both journalists denied the claims, yet they were still arrested and detained by Comorian authorities.  Pray that God would protect freedom of the press in Comoros and uphold the rights of its citizens.
