Title: Father’s Love, God’s Heart

Passage: Ephesians 6:4, Proverbs 6:20 & 20:7

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)

“My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” (Proverbs 6:20)

“The righteous lead blameless live; blessed are their children after them.” (Proverbs 20:7)

Announcements

  • Father’s Day Outdoor Service (Today!): We will celebrate Father’s Day at Live Oak Park, Temple City on 6/18 at 10:30am followed by BBQ Potluck and Softball tournament in the afternoon. We welcome friends and family to come and fellowship with us!
  • Glocal Department: This Summer our short term mission teams includes Kyrgyzstan 6/22-7/1, Taichung Caring church 7/2-7/8, El Cajon7/30-8/4, and Taiwan West Coast 7/22-29. Let’s keep them in our prayers. 
  • Church Meeting (6/25): 
    1) Council Meeting will be held on 6/25 (Sun) 1:30pm at English Chapel. Pastors, ministers, elders, deacons are all invited to participate.
    2) The Elder Board meeting will be right after the previous meeting.
  • Church Lunch Service: 
    1) Thank Lord, we have received $33,631 for our lunch fund so far.
    2) We are looking for co-workers for – Packing lunch boxes from 10:30-12pm on Sunday once a month. Arrangement and put away courtyard chairs, tea preparation and clearance of trash on Sundays. Those who are willing to serve, please contact the church office at 626-450-7676.
  • Agape Education Center: The Montessori School is starting to recruit students aged 2-6 years old. If you want more information or to visit the school, please contact 626-450-7686 to leave a message.

Prayer Requests

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)

  • Pray for Summer Short Term Mission Trip: Please pray for the Short Term Mission team that will go to Kyrgyzstan, Taichung, Taiwan from 6/22-7/8, pray for the physical health of all the members, for safety during the trip, for adaptation to the local climate, environment and food, and for the smooth running of all activities. May the Lord give them faith and strength, so that they can be bold to share the gospel and serve people in different cultures; may the team have a united heart to serve the Lord.
  • Pray for the New Comers: There are many new comers come to join Sunday Services recently. Some of them are still looking for a suitable church and some of them wish could join to a suitable fellowship. Please pray that the newly joined brothers and sisters can be well integrated into a united spiritual family. Also, pray for more co-workers to be involved to take care and outreach those new comers.
  • Pray for the sick. Pray that Lord would heal those who are sick and restore their health and strength.

PRAY FOR THE WORLD

  • Pray for Portugal: Approximately 81% of the population is Catholic, yet materialism, individualism, heresy and pagan philosophy are prevalent there. More than half of the youth have taken drugs and become addicted that making it a serious social problem. Pray for the healing of Portugal through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which their bodies and minds might be restored and they might enjoy true freedom in the Lord.
