- September Baptism (9/17): We are planning for an occasion to conduct a baptism on 9/17. In preparation of that, baptism classes will be on 8/13(today), 8/27 and 9/10 from 1:30-3:00pm in the Scratch room(115A). Please contact Pastor Jacky if you would like to participate.
- Children’s Congregation:
1) New school year 2023 – 24 registration starts on 7/23, Please check with the church website EFCLA.org.
2) Fall Quarter Sunday School teachers and helpers training today at CM building 2nd floor worship room from 12:45 – 2:30pm.
3) 8/20 CC Annual field trip to CA Science Center, please contact Ruth for the details.
4) The 5th graders transition to EM on 8/27. The parents transition meeting will be held on 8/27 from1-2pm.
Please contact Children’s Director Ruth (ext.16) for details. - World Vision “Chosen” child sponsorship (today): This Sunday is the “Chosen” event in collaboration with World Vision to help children in remote regions of Ausangate, Peru. This event will give these children an opportunity to choose their sponsors and with your sponsorship of $39 per month to share God’s love to these under privileged children. There is a booth setup in the worship hall to assist individuals and families to sign-up and upload a photo of sponsors for this meaningful opportunity. You can sign-up directly at this link: Worldvision.org/HLA. Sign-up will be available this week through 8/20 6:00pm. Please pray for you and your family’s participation.
- Church Lunch Service: Thank the Lord, we have received $42,159.55 for our lunch fund so far. If you would like to make a lunch special donation through check or cash offering, please use the church offering envelope, and please indicate lunch in the memo.
- Agape Education Center: The Montessori School is starting to recruit students aged 2-6 years old. If you want more information or to visit the school, please contact 626-450-7686 to leave a message.

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)
- Pray Children’s ministry activity: Pray for the safety of the children’s ministry field trip to the California Science Center on Sunday, August 20..
- Pray for Revival: Pray that the Church would be filled by the Spirit as to pray consistently, worship without ceasing, study the bible earnestly, fellowship frequently, preach the gospel in one accord, witness to Jesus, love one another, and help the needy.
- Pray for Teachers: Pray for our Sunday school teachers. Pray that the Lord would use them to help the church grow in the knowledge of Him as to live a life for His glory and witnesses.
- Pray for the Sick: Pray that the Lord would heal those who are sick and restore their heath and strength.
PRAY FOR THE WORLD
- Pray for Indonesia. Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Christians make up approximately 5.7% of the total population, but the majority of them are only nominal Christians. They not only have low attendance rates in church gatherings, but also lack enthusiasm in missionary work. We pray for God to revive the Indonesian churches through His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, so that they may rise up and boldly proclaim the gospel of life.
