Announcements

  • Devotional Material: 2021 October “Living Life” is available for pick up at the church office.
  • Construction: 1) The restroom renovation has begun this week and is projected to finish in October.  2) Up to date, we still need fifty-some thousand dollars for the project. Please pray for the provision from God for this project. When you make a donation for this project, please denote “building” in the memo.
  • Children Congregation: 2021-2022 new school year registration has started. Parents with children that are 5th graders or under, please visit the church website (efcla.org) to sign up.
  • Congregational Meeting (10/17): EFCLA’s congregational meeting is on 10/17 (Sun) at 1:30pm. People who are over 18 years old and have been accepted to EFCLA’s membership have the right and obligation to vote on the day of the congregational meeting.  Please participate and vote for our church’s budget and council for year 2022.  For those active members who cannot attend the congregational meeting on 10/17 (Sun), please ask for leave of absence with your zone pastors, advisors, or the church office. It is possible to visit the church to take your ballots and vote on 10/10, 10/12-15 as well.
  • 2022 Elder and Deacon Candidate: Elder: Alex Chu, Joe Fang, Alfred Liu.  Deacon: Natasha Hsu, Joseph Lee, Cindy Tang, Sunny Sun, Esther Hsu, Irene Tsai, Steven Wu, Anson Kuo, Jenny Yeh.
  • Baptism Class: For those who are considering being baptized on Thanksgiving Sunday (11/21), please reach out to your advisors, fellowship leaders, or pastors for more information.
  • Midweek Prayer Meeting: We will start a new prayer ministry every Wednesday evening from June. We sincerely invite all our sisters and brothers to join our midweek prayer every Wednesday from 7:30‐8:30pm (Zoom Meeting ID: 810 0333 4883 Passcode: prayer). We look forward to connecting with our church family through worship, scripture reading, and prayers altogether. Feel free to reach out to Pastor Jacky if you have any questions.
  • Recruitment: We are looking for advisors and helpers to join our ministries to bless and inspire our college, high school, and middle school students. Feel free to reach out if you feel called and would like to know more about it.

Prayer Requests

Pray for Our Church (EFCLA)

  • Pray for Assembly Meeting. Pray that more than half of the active church members would join the annual assembly meeting on October 17. Pray that both the approval of next year’s budget and the confirmation of el-ders and deacons will pass smoothly.
  • Pray for Happiness Groups. Pray for this season’s six Happiness groups: Affection, El Monte, Gospel, Happy Autumn 1, and Happy Autumn 2. Pray that many people would come to the Lord through these Happiness groups.
  • Pray for the Sick.  Pray for those who are sick. Pray that the Lord would heal them and restore their health.

Pray for the world

  • Pray for COVID in California. Up to date, 71% of the population of Califor-nia have received at least one dose, and 58% are fully vaccinated. Pray that more people will receive their vaccination until over 70% of the popu-lation in California are fully vaccinated. Pray that children’s vaccines (for ages 5 to 11) will become available by Thanksgiving.
  • Pray for Brunei. Brunei is a small yet wealthy nation, boasting one of the highest levels of GDP per capita in the world. However, the number of sufferers from mental illness have been on the rise. As of this year, around 1.5 percent of the Bruneians are undergoing treatment for various mental disorders. Suicide rates have more than doubled over the past four years. Pray for these numbers to do down as Bruneians encounter the hope of Christ.
