Sermon Notes

Title: “Experience Beyond META”

Passage: Hebrews 1:3

3 The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

Announcements

  • Glocal Department (6/11): We will send out our short term mission teams in today’s worship service,  Kyrgyzstan 6/22-7/1, Taichung Caring church 7/2-7/8, El Cajon7/30-8/4, and Taiwan West Coast 7/22-29.   Let’s keep them in our prayers. 
  • Children’s Congregation: Starting 6/12-16 from 5:30-8:40pm CC will host VBS on the 2nd floor of CC Building. Children & youth of 4-12yrs old are welcomed. Registration fee $30 (include dinner, t-shirt and craft materials). Heart Keeper will provide coffee times for parents at the same time on 6/12-13. Please register at efcla.org, or contact Director Ruth (ext.16) for more details. 
  • Father’s Day Outdoor Service (6/18): We will celebrate Father’s Day at Live Oak Park, Temple City on 6/18 at 10:30am followed by BBQ Potluck and Softball tournament in the afternoon.   • Church Meeting (6/25): 
    1) Council Meeting will be held on 6/25 (Sun) 1:30pm at English Chapel. Pastors, ministers, elders, deacons are all invited to participate.
    2) The Elder Board meeting will be right after the previous meeting.
  • Church Lunch Service: 
    1) Thank Lord, we have received $32,511 for our lunch fund so far.
    2) We are looking for co-workers for – Packing lunch boxes from 10:30-12pm on Sunday once a month. Arrangement and put away courtyard chairs, tea preparation and clearance of trash on Sundays. Those who are willing to serve, please contact the church office at 626-450-7676.
  • Agape Education Center: The Montessori School is starting to recruit students aged 2-6 years old. If you want more information or to visit the school, please contact 626-450-7686 to leave a message.

Prayer Requests

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)

  • Pray for VBS.  Please pray for the VBS to be held from 6/12-16. Pray that God will lead parents and children to know God through the VBS program.
  • Pray for Summer Short Term Mission Trip.  Please pray for the Short Term Mission team that will go to Kyrgyzstan, Taichung, Taiwan from 6/22-7/8, and El Cajon from 7/30-8/4. May the Lord give them faith and strength, so that they can be bold to share the gospel and serve people in different cultures; may the team have a united heart to serve the Lord.
  • Pray for the Cantonese Congregation.  The Cantonese Congregation is the youngest congregation of EFCLA. Now there are two worship services every month, and the number of attendees is about 50. Please pray that the newly joined brothers and sisters can be well integrated into a united spiritual family. Also pray for new co-workers to be involved in worship, care, and outreach.
  • Pray for the sick. Pray that Lord would heal those who are sick and restore their health and strength.

PRAY FOR THE WORLD

  • Pray for Jamaica.  Jamaica is an island country with a total population of about 2.8 million. However, the local gangs are rampant, and about 1,500 people lose their lives a year. Due to the sharp increase in crimes such as murder and drug trafficking by gangsters in order to transfer funds for operations, the government declared a state of emergency, and people’s lives were deeply affected. Let us pray together, asking the Lord to cut off the evil deeds of gangsters, and fill this land with the gospel of eternal life.
