Sermon Notes
Title: The Fruit of Discipline
Passage: Galatians 6:7-9
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

- Devotional Material: November 2024’s “Living Life” is available at the church office for pickup.
- FIZ Marriage Course Outreach: We started a 7-session Alpha Marriage Course on 9/29. This is a fantastic opportunity for married couples to strengthen their relationships and connect with others in the community. The sessions are held from Sundays 1:30-3:30 pm at English Chapel. We encourage couples to join and invite their friends for a meaningful experience of growth and connection. Please contact Pastor Jacky for more information and sign up.
- 2025 Elder and Deacon Nomination: Elder: Alex Chiu. Deacons: Stella Hsu, Frank Xue, Jim Su, Terry Tam, Allen Kuo, Jeremy Chuang, Christine Wu, Sam Yeh, Michael Hsu, Jenny Yeh, Jason Lin, Kelvin Ng, Ray Chang, Steven Hsieh, Jerry Yu.
- Member List: The list of active members is posted in the chapel and main sanctuary hallway. Please check the list and let the church office know if you have any questions. Those who are baptized or became members for less than three months are not yet eligible for voting in the meeting.
- Congregation Meeting (Today): It will be held at 1:30 pm on 10/20 (Sun). The Elder, Deacon and budget voting will take place during our worship services. All active members shall attend. If you are unable to attend, please ask for leave from the zone pastor, advisor, or church office in advance.
- Council Meeting (Today): After the Congregation Meeting, the council meeting will be held in the main sanctuary. All new/old elders, deacons, and pastors are all invited to participate. The Elder Board meeting will follow right after the previous meeting.
- Winter Retreat 2024: This year’s winter retreat’s theme is “Identity”, welcome all youth, college, and young adult brother and sisters to attend. Registration is now live! Please visit the Google form with link below for more detailed information: https://forms.gle/m2ung8CM5iCCPLeN7

Prayer Requests
PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)
- Pray for Happiness Group. There are several Happiness Groups starting up in September. May the Holy Spirit continue to work in the hearts of every seeker, that they would feel loved in the group, and may receive the ben-efits of the gospel by accepting Jesus as their savior.
- Pray for the church fellowship group. May God’s love inspire brothers and sisters in the church to participate in fellowship meetings, so that members of the Lord can build each other up, grow together, inspire love, and en-courage good deeds.
- Pray for the Elders and Deacons team. Pray for those elders and deacons who are confirmed in the Assembly Meeting! Pray that the Lord would give them wisdom and strength in developing His church through their ministries. We pray that many people would rise to serve the Lord, and many people would come to the Lord.
- Pray for the Sick. Pray that the Lord would heal those who are sick and restore their heath and strength.
PRAY FOR THE WORLD
- Pray for the next generation of teenagers. Alpha Gen (Who are born after 2010) is facing the prevalence of social networks and a highly digitized environment. Their time spent online often exceeds the time they spend in-teracting with family and peers. May God help parents teach their children time management, emphasize online safety, and encourage wise use of digital devices, so that our kids are not ensnared by the virtual world.
