Prayer Requests

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)

  • Prayer for EFCLA. We pray for EFCLA, that it would be willing to move beyond a mindset of “only seeking its own pleasure” and instead embrace “bearing with the failings of the weak” (Romans 15:1). May the church step outside of its comfort zone and echo chamber, becoming willing to listen to the needs of the community and the city, and offering the Gospel as the answer. May the church be a place where sinners can honestly face their own weaknesses without being condemned. We pray that You would make EFCLA not merely a church that does missions, but that the church itself is a missionary, and the church itself is the mission.
  • Prayer for American Youth Bound by Depression and Mental Illness. Pray for American youth who are struggling with mental and emotional burdens. The suicide rate for children aged 10-14 in the US has doubled over the past decade, and for adolescents aged 15-19, it has risen by 76%. The latest research also indicates that one in five Americans is affected by mental illness. We pray for the Lord to grant wisdom to parents and the church in their care, to create space for teenagers to express their concerns, and to provide positive and appropriate opportunities for stress relief. We pray that parents will be guided not to demand perfectionist standards from their children. In compassion and love, help children walk the path of repentance and obedience, accept the invitation of the Savior Jesus, surrender the authority of their lives, and by God’s grace, live in peace and joy.
  • Pray for the Sick. Pray for the brothers and sisters you know who are in poor health. Ask God to heal them and restore their physical health.

PRAY FOR THE WORLD

  • Prayer for the Persecuted Chinese House Churches. We place the recently persecuted Chinese house churches into Your hands. In this dark hour, as they face imprisonment and threats for holding fast to their faith, we ask that Your Spirit be with them. Grant them a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, and lead them to triumph over fear and despair. May they experience the joy and steadfastness of the Holy Spirit even in the midst of their trials. We pray that You would move the hearts of those in power and transform the forces that restrict religious freedom, allowing the faith to be freely expressed. We declare in the Name of Jesus Christ that You will use the testimony of the Church to shine a light into the hearts of those in darkness, so that the Gospel may flourish and advance even in these difficult circumstances.
