Announcements

  • Pastoral Office Announcement: Pastor Scott, Pastor Leona, along with other English Congregation leaders, will be attending the Contend Leadership Summit in Colorado Springs from 1/16-18. Please keep them in your prayers for health and travel safety.
  • Devotional Material: February 2026’s Living Life is available for pickup at the church office.
  • Children’s Ministry Volunteer Teachers Needed: The Children’s Ministry is recruiting volunteer teachers to help with Children’s Sunday School for the Spring Quarter (March–May). If you have a heart for serving children and are willing to support this ministry, we warmly invite you to join the team. Please contact the Children’s Ministry or the church office for more information. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and support.
  • Worship Ministry Department: We firmly believe that prayer is the foundation and driving force of ministry. The Worship Ministry invites worship team members from the Taiwanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, and English congregations to gather once a month for a departmental sharing and prayer meeting. Through prayer, we seek to be connected with one another and united in discerning God’s leading, so that our worship and praise will not stop at music and formality, but truly reflect wholehearted worship with our body, mind, and spirit. Beginning Sunday, 1/18, the meeting will be held on the third Sunday of each month from 1:30–2:30 PM in the 109A/B Choir Room.
  • Children’s Ministry: Starting from the third Sunday every month, 5th and 6th graders will begin participating in the English worship service.
  • Finance Department: 2025 Offering receipts are available for pickup on 2/1, 2/8. If you’ve changed your mailing address in the past year, please update it by calling 626-450-7676 or emailing info@efcla.org.
  • Glocal Outreach: On Sunday, February 15, from 1:00–2:30 PM, join us in the center courtyard for a special Lunar New Year event! There will be traditional games and delicious snacks. We encourage all fellowships to support the event and invite new friends to join us. For booth sign-ups or questions, please contact: Jim Su | jimsujimsu@gmail.com | (626) 512-6358.
  • Church Announcement: Each lunchbox is $5 (monthly prepaid $20, Annual prepaid $240). Please pray for this ministry and consider designated offerings via Zelle, check, or cash (using the church offering envelope). Kindly note “lunch” on your donation.
  • Upcoming: Holy Communion on(2/1)

Prayer Requests

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)

  • Pray for Spiritual Renewal in 2026. Pray that brothers and sisters will hun-ger for God, experience renewal through the Holy Spirit, and through dai-ly devotion, prayer, and training, live as true disciples who please God and fulfill His calling.
  • Pray for Church Leaders & Co-workers. Pray for pastors, elders, deacons, counselors, small group leaders, and all co-workers. Ask God to grant them wisdom to establish healthy boundaries in ministry and daily life, serving faithfully while remaining rooted in God’s rest.
  • Prayer for the Church Family. Pray for brothers and sisters who are physi-cally, emotionally, or spiritually unwell. Ask God to bring healing, restore strength, and surround them with His peace and presence during trials.

PRAY FOR THE WORLD

  • Pray for Suriname. Suriname, a small nation on the northern coast of South America, is rich in rainforests and cultural diversity and has recently discovered oil. Amid political instability and economic challenges, with about 46% of the population being Christian, we pray that God would grant wisdom and justice, guide its development, and bring peace and hope to its peo-ple.
  • Pray for Youth Struggling with Addiction. Among youth aged 15–24, sui-cide rates remain high, often linked to anxiety and addiction. Pray that God would set young people free from addiction, and grant parents wis-dom, love, and patience to walk with their children toward healing.
