Title: The Good “Enough” Mother
Passage: 2 Corinthians 12:9

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Announcements

  • Equipment Department: A new English Sunday School Series Halo Zone will start from May to July every Sunday morning 10-11am at 119A classroom.
  • Mother’s Day (Today): Celebrate Mother’s Day , the Care Department will present a gift to every mother following the service. Lunch boxes will be provided.
  • Short Term Mission Commission (Today): During our joint Mother’s Day worship service, we will commission our Summer Short-Term Mission teams. A total of 50 participants will be serving, and the estimated funding needed is $40,000. Please keep them in your prayers as they go out to share the gospel abroad. If you would like to support the teams financially, please indicate “Short-Term Missions” or “STM” on your donation.
  • Children’s Ministry Announcement:
    1)CC will hold a meeting for all Sunday school teachers and helpers to discuss the CC schedule and class changing. This meeting will be held on May 17 at the CC worship room, 1:00 -2:30 pm, simple snacks and child care will be provided. Please contact the Children Director Ruth for the details.
  • 2)From June 8th to 12th, Vacation Bible school (VBS) will be held in the children’s hall from 6:00 PM to 8:40 PM. Please register on the church web-site. For details, please contact Director Ruth (x16).
  • Operation Department: To enhance nighttime parking safety, the church will be constructing additional fencing and installing electric gates on the north and west sides of the property. The total construction cost is $75,000. Please pray for this project and consider contributing financially. During construction, parking may be limited. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Prayer Requests

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH (EFCLA)

  • Pray for wisdom, strength, strategy, talent, and discernment to be granted to pastors and ministry coworkers. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we break all curses of the enemy upon pastors, and may the precious blood of Jesus cover them abundantly. We also declare in the name of Jesus Christ that not every weapon formed against pastors shall pros-per, and all attacks of idle words, temptations of lust, money, and power shall depart from them.
  • Pray for VBS and Summer Short Term Mission Trip. Please pray for the VBS to be held from 6/8-12. Pray that God will lead parents and children to know God through the VBS program. In addition, pray for the Short Term Mission team that will go to Kyrgyzstan, Taichung (2 different churches), Japan Tome and Taiwan West Coast. In addition, pray for those who join to the STM have a faithful heart and strength, so that they can be bold to share the gospel and serve people in different cultures; may the team have a united heart to serve the Lord.
  • Pray for New Believers. Since some brothers and sisters have been baptized during the Easter season. Pray that the Lord would strengthen their faith, and move them to be equipped for further growth in their faith, and become ready for His witness.
  • Pray for those in need (body, mind, and spirit). Pray for the brothers and sisters.

PRAY FOR OUR THE WORLD

  • Pray for the conflict between the United States and Iran. Pray for the President of the United States, the Supreme Leader of Iran, and all decision-makers, that the Lord would grant them calmness and wisdom to make decisions that consider civilians and bring an end to bloodshed, rather than reacting with emotional retaliation. Seek peace: Ask God to restrain any impulsive or misguided decisions, and to grant leaders creative and breakthrough vision to pursue alternative paths of diplomacy and dialogue.
